Singer Justin Timberlake
is making a comeback to his favorite show Saturday
Night Live as a guest host along with the show’s host Keenan Thomson. This is expected to be his fifth entry into the
show as a guest host. Timberlake's
latest offering for music lovers, Suit
& Tie, will also
be launched on the show whose promos have already gone viral on the web.
Timberlake has recorded this song for his third album, The 20/20 Experience. It has been
co-written by Timberlake, Timbaland,
Jay-Z, Jerome Harmon, James Fauntleroy, Terrence Stubbs, Johnny Wilson and
Charles Still. Suit & Tie is
a dance-based song with many elements similar to his single Like I Love You (2002). All tracks of
his album are inspired by his idols Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen and Bob
Dylan. Suit & Tie has a retro touch to it and Timberlake has
made the video in black and white color tones.
The much-awaited album, produced entirely by Timbaland, is being slated as a grand comeback for the artist after a gap of nearly six years. The singer/song writer/actor says his film career inspired his music and vice versa. About his hiatus, Timberlake says, ‘I'm the one that sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it. As close as I get to it, I don't think I can physically torture myself that much, year in and year out, and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does and the way that it is right now. You just don't get that every day. You have to wait for it.’ He calls his new album a character study as compared to his earlier albums, which had more of a party tempo.
The album comprises 10 songs and the duration of each song is 7 to 8 minutes each. The tracks included are: Pusher Love Girl, Suit & Tie, Don’t Hold the Wall, Strawberry Bubblegum, Tunnel Vision, Spaceship Coupe, That Girl, Let the Groove Get In, Mirrors, and the Blue Ocean Floor. The album will hit stores on March 15. He recently sang the song Pusher Love Girl and That Girl at a pre-Super Bowl concert.
He had taken a break from his musical career and taken to acting where he played the character of Sean Parker in his debut film The Social Network. This year he performed the two singles – Mirrors and Suit & Tie – from The 20/20 Experience with rapper Jay-Z at the 55th Grammys. He is also performing with Jay-Z at the Wireless festival in London this summer.
