Social media management, listening, and monitoring tools

How many of you use the social media? If in a class of 100, I had to take a head count, the whole class would stand up. Social media management may be used for various purposes by different individuals, but one thing that binds them together is the World Wide Web or the internet. Digitalization has united people across borders, cutting across barriers of class, language, race and gender. Since the late 1990s and beginning of the 2000s, a new concept has been coined by media gurus - Social media management. Prior to the advent of social media, the print media ruled. People’s image once tarnished could not be erased from print media. But, with the advent of social networking sites, many organizations managed to achieve this feat as well. They employed tools to garner positive coverage for themselves. Now, there are organizations that engage exclusively in managing a brand in social media. Social media management entails the tracking of content through various channels in the vi...

Beyonce’s new offering from fifth unnamed album

Singer Beyonce Knowles has released a brand new track 'Bow Down/I Been On.' The song is part of her upcoming fifth solo album, which is yet to be named. It is a break from her usual soulful numbers. The track produced by Hit-Boy, is a reflection of 'her personal and professional life.' The lyrics 'I took some time to live my life, don't think I'm just his little wife. Don’t get it twisted this is my sh*t' are a direct aim at those women who are living a protected existence. In the track, she also describes her break from the music industry and her dream to rule the music charts once more. The Destiny’s Child singer has lent very little vocals to the new 3 minute 34 second sound clip which seems to have more of a touch of rap and trashy lyrics. While the clip also appears to be a mixture from two different tracks of her upcoming, unnamed album, the second part of the song also contains a promo of London’s O2 Arena concert . The 32-year-old s...

Disney Infinity games and toy line launch delayed to August 2013

Disney is postponing the release date of their new video game Infinity to August. The sandbox game, which was to be released in June, will now hit North America on August 18. Of course, developers of the game say that the two month delay will give them time to polish the game further. The reason for the delay given is attributed to pressure from retailers who want the launch to be closer to the holiday selling season, and also the release of the next version of Skylanders (launched earlier in 2011). Developers of the game say that Infinity has been inspired by the Skylanders concept of action figures interacting in video games. Disney has a rich toy collection from its various brands and franchises. Disney has revealed that the game coming in a typical Skylanders style will feature 30 toy Disney figures that will give access to various characters and levels in the game. Players will have to buy toys of characters featured in the video game. Avalanche Software has develope...
