Amazon adds file syncing to Cloud Drive desktop app

Online retailer Amazon has come a long way from its first virtual bookstore, merchandise, two electronic devices - the Amazon Kindle e-book reader and Kindle fire tablet. Amazon has practically dabbled with almost everything. The book retailer has now upgraded its desktop application to the next level by adding a file syncing feature.

Called File Sync, it will allow Amazon’s cloud users to view and access their files across all types of devices. So when a user installs the Amazon Cloud application on another device, for example, another Mac, they can easily synchronize files stored on the system where it has been originally stored.

Mac users will now be able to upload their albums straight to the Cloud Drive desktop application by selecting photographs from the desktop. Once they are uploaded, users can then view the pictures from their internet accounts from any device, which includes the Kindle Fire tablets.

The web storage can also be downloaded on the Android and Kindle operating systems, apart from others like the Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Mac OS X 10.6 and Mac OS X 10.8 can easily download the cloud storage application of Amazon.

The retailer entered the cloud storage market nearly two years ago, competing with SkyDrive and Dropbox. Started for the purpose of storing music that was purchased from the retailer’s website, the desktop application, Cloud Drive, was created for Windows and Mac users to store files on the internet. But, when the web storage service was initially launched, the users had given it a low rating because it lacked a file sharing feature. Designed to be a lookalike of cloud storage just like the Dropbox, Amazon made up for the missing feature with its latest launch.
Now only time will tell how users will rate this new add-on feature.

Hug and Kiss ‘em & Hold ‘em close to you!

From the moment I conceived, it was my fantasy to have a super tactile bond with my child after he/she would be born (for the longest possible time, I felt it would be a girl!). After my son was born, things became different and the first three months were extremely painful feeding him or holding him thanks to my C-section stitches. So all maternal feelings vanished into thin air and all I could think was sleep or having “me-time”.  There was hardly a chance to cuddle up with him! Post partum depression had hit me big time and me not being able to calm down a screaming infant had dipped my morale too. Motherhood was nothing like I had imagined it would be! Besides I was terrified that my son would not accept me if I didn’t develop a bond early on. Of course, that did not happen. It was a mom’s fear that had spoken. After he entered the infamous toddler phase, I became the quintessential “villain” for my son – the usual don’t do this and that. Yet again, my dreams of becoming...

Choose the right monitor for your PC...

How many of you have read computer monitor reviews before buying one? Do you compare prices of computer monitors on websites? A large percentage of people have been found to do extensive surveys before making a purchase of the device. But what about those who haven’t done? Reviews of any gadget or device give a detailed insight on its resolution, dimensions, image quality, price, colors, camera (if it’s a mobile phone or a tablet) and finally the market ratings. Similarly, a computer monitor is a vital component of a PC or personal computer. Without the monitor, the computer is incomplete. So once you read computer monitors reviews, you are less likely to make a wrong choice while choosing between a Samsung or Dell monitor. First, check what type of monitor you want. This is because each brand specializes in providing different types of monitors. For instance, there are seven types of Samsung computer monitors available. Samsung offers a wide range of computer monitors like LCD, L...
